Emanuele Russo
Le Lumie
Marsala (TP)
Emanuele grew up surrounded by the flavors of home and his grandmothers. After completing his studies at the hotel management school, he took his first steps in the kitchen at various hospitality establishments, before taking over the restaurant at the Trinacria Hotel in San Vito Lo Capo. There, he was fortunate enough to be noticed by producers of the television program "La Prova del Cuoco," and was the star of the show for two years, in 2005 and 2007. This, in addition to numerous participations in the Cous Cous Festival, earned him numerous awards, as well as the title of Best Couscous in the World in 2002 and 2017 (by popular jury), which led to him receiving the prestigious honorary citizenship of San Vito Lo Capo.
His encounters with great professionals were undoubtedly crucial to his development, especially Giovanni Torrente, his mentor and guide during his early years. Emanuele, passionate about baking and finely leavened products, favors freshness, authenticity, and quality without excessive transformations, because the Earth is the first and best ingredient in every dish. In 2009, the idea of opening "LE LUMIE" in Marsala was born, where Emanuele decided to express his vision of simple, locally sourced cuisine.
